For over 50 years, we’ve proudly served homeowners, tradespeople, and businesses across Great Baddow, Chelmsford, and the wider Essex area, supplying quality tiles and tiling materials with a warm, personal touch.

What started as a small family venture has grown into a trusted local name in tiles, tiling supplies, and distribution, while still holding onto the friendly, honest service we’ve always been known for.

Our Story

Our journey began in 1972, when A&M Tiling was first set up to carry out tiling for private houses and site work only. With a passion for quality workmanship and an eye for detail, the business quickly earned a reputation for reliability and high standards.

In 1977, we opened our first retail shop at 28 High Street, Great Baddow, allowing customers to browse tiles, get expert advice, and source materials locally. We continued providing tiling services for retail customers alongside site work.

As demand grew, we purchased our next premises in 1986 at 168 Rainsford Road, giving us more space to expand our product range and better serve our customers.

In 1988, we introduced the distribution side of the business alongside our retail trade. This enabled us to support trade professionals, contractors, and larger projects across Essex and beyond.

Family has always been at the heart of A&M Tiling. In 2004, Marlon joined the business, bringing fresh ideas and modern thinking while staying true to our traditional values.

In 2013, Melissa joined the family business, and Marlon took over running the company alongside Maxine Buck, marking an exciting new chapter that continues today.
